What will you do?

Story.

This morning, I sat beside a man (who has in his hands a passport and mobile phone) in an FX while I was on my way to work. He asked me how much is the fare hanggang sa Quezon Ave MRT station. I told him Php30.00. Silence. I got off along Edsa-Quezon Ave. He got off too. He asked me again “may masasakyan ba papuntang Quiapo dito?” I told him yes. I crossed the street, he also crossed the street. Pumara ako ng FX uli at sumakay. Sumakay din siya doon at magkaharap kami sa may likuran nun FX… Stalker???? Nawawala ba siya???.... As I was about to pay for my fare, he got money from his pocket and also paid for his fare and told me “huwag ka nang magbayad, heto na lang.” I looked at him and told him “Ay, huwag na po. Thank you na lang.” He insists but I stand firm with my decision not to let him pay for my fare.

I am not in favor for a stranger paying anything for me. Am I bad if I my mind is thinking that if I agree to let him pay for my fare he might ask for something from me? Or is it just his gesture of thanking me for answering his questions?

In another story, last night while I am on my way home, a girl asked the lady beside me if she could use her mobile phone to send a message to her friend because naubusan na siya ng load. The lady beside me was hesitant at first. But later on allowed the other girl to send a text message to her friend. The message is (being said out loud by the other girl) “Paloadan mo naman ako kasi naubusan na ako ng load. Nakigamit lang ako ng cell”.
