I wonder who has the best internet dsl connection for the different telephone/mobile companies. We are currently looking for one because we are setting up wifi connection at the store.

Will the residential promo with at least 1Mbps or 2 Mbps be enough?

What will you do if you receive a message from your boss that you will not report anymore to work? And then you will learn that your boss has already hired somebody to replace you? Sad isn't it?

An accountant of a sister-company will be receiving that message by Monday. Nakakalungkot. Kasi isa ako sa nakaka alam na tatangalin na siya at meron na siyang kapalit. Call it Karma for her. Bad karma to be exact. Last year (i think mga ganitong panahon din iyon) siniraan niya yung leasing personnel sa boss nila. Tinanggal ang pobre. Buti na lang napatunuyan nun tinanggal na hindi totoo ang pinaparatang sa kanya. Hindi na nga lang siya bumalik. Kinuha na lang niya ang separation pay niya.

Ngayon, bumabalik sa kanya yung ginawa niya sa co-employee niya. Bad kasi siya.

"... it has been noted that employees .... appropriate office attire should be worn at all times ..." as the memo goes. Sheez! Tinamaan ako dun.

Years back, we have a company uniform. Then tinanggal nila and gave us instead clothing, meal and transportation allowance (wahoo!). So I was used to wearing jeans+blouse or jeans+poloshirts with matching flat shoes or rubbershoes.

One thing that I love and hate about the memo is the shopping galore for new clothes... and shoes. It has been a long time since I last wore a slack+blouse to work. And finding, looking, fitting, scrutinizing clothes is a very difficult task for me now. Mixing and matching clothes for work proves to be a very challenging job.

How about wearing around 2 inches heeled shoes? Parusa. It made my feet sore on the first working day of the year.

My only consolation is the compliments that I am receiving. Kasi nga ngayon lang uli nila ako nakitang naka pormal. I do not know how long will I be able to go on like this. I miss my jeans and my shirts and my rubber shoes. But then, I have to abide by the rules.

Pissed off!

That is what I am feeling right now. I am pissed because Officemate "O" was asking our timekeeper (T) with regards to the last time we were allowed to go home early (half day) kasi nga All Saint’s day the following day. Umuwi ako ng mas maaga (before 2:30). This has been a tradition in our office na kapag management ang nagpauwi sa amin ng maaga, we could go home earlier than the 2:30 (say 30 mins before that). Acceptable yun kasi nga matrapik na at Holiday pa the following day.

Sabi na nga ba at malakas ang kutob ko na sisilipin iyon ng kasama ko. Kasi daw nag antay sila ng 2:30. Kasalanan ko ba na mag-antay sila? Kung umuwi din sila nang maaga nun araw na iyon, sigurado at hindi nila sisilipin iyon. Sige, ganyan ang gusto nila. Kinausap ko din si T at sinabi na tingnan niya din ang oras ng OT na fina-file nila. Dapat bawasan din sila dahil madaya sila kapag nagfa-file sila ng OT. 9:30 – 6:30 ang oras namin dito sa office. Kapag dumating ka nang 9:40, dapat kapag gusto mo ifile ng OT, 6:40 onwards ang dapat na ilagay mo sa OT form at hindi 6:30!!!!! Ang alam ko sa OVERTIME is in excess of 8 hours of work. 8 hours ba yung 9:40 – 6:30????? HINDI diba.

Matagal ko na napapansin yun. Pero dahil sa pakikisama, sige, hayaan ko. Pero ngayon, hindi na pwede yun. Nagulat nga daw siya kasi nagreklamo si O at bakit daw ako lang ang sinilip niya samantalang maraming umuwi ng maaga nun araw na iyon. Kakaiba. Sana bago nila silipin ang iba, tingnan muna nila ang sarili nila.

Desktop

It's a Saturday. I'm all alone in the office because I am the Officer of the Day for our department. Geez. Baka may mumu. Nah. I've locked the door since my area is in the innermost part of the office.

Just sharing what my computer desktop wallpaper looks like. Not a messy desktop. Those icons are the important things that I am using.

My dream car? sort of. I liked the color and the rim.

Another day of FREE lunch and snacks. I need tea! I have to walk around para bumaba ang kinain ko. Geez. I still haven't eaten the slice of cake (from Goldilocks) and drank the soda. Will have to reserve that for tomorrow.

The company bowling tournament will start in just a few weeks. Same team with same teammates. One goal: To WIN!

To open or not to open

Here's the thing. The employees (of the shop that I am handling) asked for a store closure today. I told them to write a letter for their request. They wrote, faxed, made follow-up calls. Then yesterday they told me that their request was approved (good for them, kami kasi sa office hindi declared na early holiday today). I saw the paper with the "OK" note with it plus the signature of the one who approved. It's settled then, closed for the day. Last night I received a text message from the manager telling me that the management was asking them to open the store today "kahit hanggang 4pm". What???! Why is this sudden change of mind? Kasi ba dahil hindi kami early holiday kaya they wanted to have this pattern also sa store? I wonder why. I let them be.

Long weekend

It has been over two weeks since my last post. Been quite busy with work (as usual). I arranged my old files, placed then in a box to be sent to the bodega. Now my work place is free from "unwanted" items.

I also have to deal with the Equitable-BDO merger thingy. Mahirap kaya ngayon sa BDO (they were EPCIB before). Ilan beses ako pabalik balik ng bank for account numbers, for payroll diskettes that has nothing saved in it (ewan ko ba kung bakit).

Went home early today. Not because of the Makati tensyon. I just want to go home early.

OktoberFEAST

It is definitely an October-FEAST for us in the office. Why? You see, since October 1 halos araw araw kami may libreng pagkain. It's either bigay ng contractor or ng supplier or ng officemate. Like yesterday, may nagbigay sa amin ng "Bunch of Lunch". Then, in the early afternoon, hala, may nagdala naman ng "sapin-sapin". Geez! Mamaya naman (5am kasi as of this writing) may birthday celebration yung isang AVP na sagot ng company. We will be having Max's. Then tomorrow, may libreng lunch uli. Compliment of the same AVP.

I can't wait for November and December.

Doing in-between

Compared with other private companies who have limited coffee and lunch breaks, here in the office, it's UNLIMITED. Unlimited in the sense that we could have our own coffee/lunch break anytime we want.

In fact, yesterday I went out of my office area, looked for a phone, I have to choose between

Nokia 6300

and

Motorola V3x

Halos pareho lang naman ang price nun 2 phone. When I sold my other phone, in my head I wanted the Motorola V3x. But then I saw the N6300... almost the same price... Nagtanong-tanong nang mga features of both phones then pagkatapos makipagtawaran ng price sa may-ari, I chose the Nokia 6300. Mas elegant tingnan for me yung Nokia so I went for the Nokia phone.

After that, back to work uli to meet report deadlines due for tomorrow. Now, i have to finish this FS analysis... geez... life here is definitely a routine... but i love every minute of it!!!!

Birthday celebration at CPS

It has been a yearly tradition for us in the office to celebrate the company president's birthday at Century Park Sheraton Hotel - Coffee Shop. Lunch Buffet.

Yesterday's menu is not that appealing as compared with the previous years' food. They have common Filipino food (pochero, chicken sa gata, bopis, pinakbet, langka, tanigue)... Hmmm... I went for the chicken and tanigue. Then I headed for the pasta station, asked for carbonara (it sucks! mas masarap pa ang luto ko. It's hard not to compare the taste). Then went to the grill station for my roast beef-well done.. had two servings for that (yummy!)... We asked for a plate of fruits (mango, pineapple, apple, papaya, oranges, grapes)... Dessert for me is mango crepe ala mode (hayaan na muna ang diet)

The cake was divided for each department to have their share.
